Meeting Place is the signature event of Arts Access Australia, the national peak body for arts and disability in Australia.
Meeting Place is a national forum created in 2012 to build stronger linkages and collaboration between stakeholders. Meeting Place is held annually and brings Deaf, disabled and non-disabled artists with disability together with industry leaders in an accessible and supported space, to present, perform, discuss and debate the latest in arts and accessibility.
The first international Meeting Place was held in Germany in 2017, hosted by Kulturprojekte Berlin GMBH. Head to our Gallery page to see highlights from this ground-breaking event. To find out about hosting a Meeting Place international forum please visit our Partners & Sponsors page.
Meeting Place strives to demonstrate best practice in inclusion, by creating universal access for all. Meeting Place engages people across all art forms, access needs and level of engagement. Delegates include: artists and arts workers; representatives from arts and disability organisations as well as arts and cultural leaders from local and national government bodies and the Australia Council for the Arts.
By bringing a diverse selection of the arts and disability sector together, Meeting Place creates an opportunity to showcase best practice in access standards and role model what good access looks and feels like.
